Territorial Risk Manager, The Salvation Army’s USA Eastern Territory


Alastair has been the Territorial Risk Manager for the Salvation Army’s USA Eastern Territory since 2013, overseeing the risk, safety, insurance, and employee benefit aspects of the Army’s operation in 13 northeastern states. Formerly a Salvation Army officer for 23 years, Alastair has been involved in Salvation Army ministry and business his whole working life, leading Salvation Army units in Massachusetts and New Jersey. Additionally for 10 years he managed various Salvation Army operations in Russia and Eastern Europe not long after the collapse of the Soviet Union. For three of those years he was the country coordinator for The Salvation Army’s work in the Republic of Georgia during tumultuous times in that country’s history.

In addition to his risk management responsibilities, Alastair is involved in emergency disaster work with The Salvation Army, spending two months in disaster relief in Vanuatu after Cyclone Pam in 2015 and several weeks in St. Thomas and Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Alastair now lives in Forest, VA with his wife, Anita.
